Battlefield 3: Classes Explained

Battlefield 3: Classes Explained
There are 4 classes in Battlefield 3, Assault, Engineer, Support and Scout. This is what each class is meant to do.

Assault
The assault class uses rifle such as the M16A3 and the F2000, they are high damage weapons that are effective at all ranges. The choice of gadgets the have are the Med-kit (to heal teammates), M320 grenade launcher(you can also have smoke grenades and shotgun slugs) and the M26 MASS shotgun. All assault kits have defibrillators to revive dead opponents. They are the medics of the team.

Engineer
Engineers are anti-vehicle soldiers and use carbines like the M4A1 and AKS-74U. They also have rockets launchers and have a choice between 3: RPG-7/SMAW(Free fire rockets), Javelin(Can lock onto ground vehicles and laser designated targets) and the FIM-92 Stinger/SA-18 IGLA(Locks onto air vehicles) They also have a choice between either the repair tool to repair friendly vehicles and destroy enemy ones, the EOD bot, a  remotely operated device that can repair/destroy vehicles and plant/disarm M-Coms in rush and AT mines which are explosives placed on the ground that are triggered when driven over by enemy vehicles.

Support
Light machine guns with high ammo capacity are the weapons used by the support class, they can come equipped with bipods to deploy on ledges. They can choose between C4, explosives that can be planted then detonated later, Claymores, which are bombs that explode when the enemy walk over it, or a mortar which is a launcher that can fire either explosives or smoke rounds from a safe distance. They have ammo packs that replenish ammunition of anyone who stands near it.

Scout
Scouts use sniper rifles with high zoom scopes to take out the enemy from a distance. They spot the enemy for their team to kill. They use a radio beacon that teammates can spawn on. They can choose between a  T-UGS sensor that is placed down and any enemies that go in range of it will show on the radar, a SOFLAM that can laser designate enemy vehicles for teammates with weapons such as javelins to attack or the MAV that is a air radar device that has a motion sensor built in to find enemies. They can either play aggressively and put a radio beacon near an objective or hold back and snipe.
