Minecraft: How to use any block for storage

This is a simple trick that will allow you to use things like blocks of diamond as storage blocks.


Step 1: Place a block down, it doesn't matter which it is.

Step 2: Put a minecart track on the block.

Step 3: Put a storage minecart on the track.

Step 4: Destroy the block you placed at first.

Step 5: Put 3 blocks going up next to the minecart and put the block you want to turn into storage one block above the cart.

Step 6: Put a piston facing downwards above the block that will be storage, then put a red stone torch on top of the 3 blocks. This should make your block merge with the minecart.

Step 7: Destroy the red stone torch, the piston and everything apart from the storage block.

Step 8: Build your home, base or whatever else you may want around the chest. It should work as a chest, this is useful online when you need to hide your possessions.
